7 quintals of explosives recovered The Gautam Budh Nagar police today recovered more than seven quintals of explosives from license-holders of the illegal firecracker godowns. The police said that the recovered explosive was being illegally stored and was enough to blow up the entire Dadri town.In a bid to seal the godowns in the area, the police today raided more than 10 premises in the town. They recovered 455 kg of explosive, and 10,500 fire crackers from the house of Pyarelal. From the house of Harish the police recovered 145 kgs of explosive and 200 fire crackers. During the raid at Leela's house 100 kg of explosive was recovered along with 5,000 fire crackers. However, all the three are absconding.Interestingly, Pyerelal's and Leela's firecracker godowns had exploded in the past taking several lives, but the two managed to run the godowns despite this. As per the rules, a license-holder can not store more than 50 pound of the explosive at a time.Man posing as MP arrested The police have arrested a 25-year old man, impersonating as a Rajya Sabha MP at the Indira Gandhi International Airports' Domestic terminal on Monday.The man, later identified as Mohan Lal hailing from Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh, had two tickets from Delhi to Guwahati on an Indian Airlines flight in the name of BJP MP Jagannath Singh and his wife Radha Devi. A 22-year-old woman identified as Nidhi Mishra from Bhopal, who was accompanying Lal, has also been arrested.According to officials of the Indian Airlines, the flight IC-879 to Guwahati was delayed by an hour, and as a part of courtesy accorded to the VIP passengers, the airlines called the MP's North Avenue residence to inform him that the flight had been delayed. However they were in for a surprise when they were told that the MP was not on the flight, as he was away to his constituency.The police was informed. The police nabbed the duo at the airline check-in counter.During interrogation, Lal revealed that he had planned to go on a holiday and had even booked a government guest house at Guwahati. He said that he was working as the personal assistant of the MP and had booked the ticket through the free coupons issued to the MP. However, the MP's personal staff at his residence said that the he had no personal assistant by the name of Mohan Lal.Two arrested for murder The Punjabi Bagh police have arrested three persons - Umesh, Sanjay alias Sonmu and Om Prakash, both residents of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh jhuggi camp, for looting and murdering Laxmi Das (37) of Jahangirpuri on Monday.Rickshaw puller killed An unidentified rickshaw puller of around 30 years of age died in an accident when his rickshaw was knocked down by a Haryana Roadways bus near Rajiv Gandhi camp on Mathura Road on Monday afternoon.The police said that he was rushed to AIIMS where he died.
