PUNE, Nov 16: Junior division civil judge R K Bhise on Thursday adjourned the hearing on the M G Road hawkers case to November 17 without making any specific reference to the status quo ordered by him last week.
Advocate Khatal Patil, representing the rebel hawkers who had moved court, admitted that the hawkers have agreed with a major portion of the compromise deed which was signed between the Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) and the Hawkers Association in July.
The only major grievance was the inclusion of the names of some bogus hawkers in the list submitted to the court, Patil said while demanding that the names of five hawkers should be included in the list. The next hearing is slated for November 17.
When contacted, cantonment executive officer J Sharma declared that the allotment of licences is still open and that at least 10 hawkers had approached the board today for their allotment letters.
