AKOLA: Minister of State for Sports and District Guardian Minister Gulabrao Gawande was not involved in the attack on the office of local daily Deshonnati, says a police report.The report assumes special significance because Chief Minister Manohar Joshi had hinted at the minister's expulsion from the cabinet, if found involved in the incident.Addressing a press conference here, District Superintendent of Police Krishnalal Bishnoi said the report had been sent to the State Home Ministry.Gujarat flood toll mounts to 223AHMEDABAD: The second spell of flood in the last one week in Gujarat claimed 14 lives taking the death toll in the current monsoon season to 233. JD leader produced in Nashik courtNASHIK: A Janata Dal leader from Bidar (Karnataka) and former president of zilla parishad, Prakash Kalekar, who is the prime accused in an interstate fake currency racket unearthed by the Nashik rural police, was remanded to police custody till August 16. Kalekar was nabbed in Karnataka and brought to Nashik by a special police squad led by inspector Prakash Kavde.
