Over 12 injured as scooter, bus collide near Kharar
Kharar:
A scooterist and over a dozen bus passengers were injured when a Haryana Roadways bus crushed a Bajaj Chetak scooter and was simultaneously hit by a Punjab Roadways bus on the Kharar-Chandigarh highway near Deon village. The scooterist was rushed to PGI while the bus passengers were discharged after first aid. Traffic on the highway was disrupted for half an hour. No case has been registered so far.

50-yr-old man murdered
Kharar:
A 50-year-old resident of Paraul village, Santekh Singh was murdered and his son Gurmeet Singh injured by some assailants at their residence on Thursday night. The police have booked four persons Sadhu Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Jaspal Singh and Balwinder Singh under Sections 302/34 of the IPC but no arrests have been made so far.

Theft at CBI judge’s house
Patiala:
A thief broke into the house of CBI Judge Amarjit Singh Virk in the Choti Baradari area, here last night and decamped with a pair of gold earrings. Police sources said that the thief tried to steal a Kinetic Honda scooter from the house but the scooter did not start. Then he got into the kitchen and helped himself to some refreshments. By that time, the watchman had raised an alarm but before the thief could be nabbed, he managed to escape with a pair of earrings. The Judge was not at home when the incident took place, police sources said, adding that a case has been registered at the police station division number 2 and investigations were on. A police team with a sniffer dog visited the scene of the crime this morning. Finger prints of the culprit have been lifted and efforts to nab him are on.
