AHMEDABAD, SEPT 19: Curfew was relaxed in the Dariapur locality of the walled city for six hours from 8 am on Tuesday following peaceful situation prevailing in the area after the violence during civic elections resulting in death of seven persons on Sunday.

The situation in the curfew bound area was under control and no untoward incident has been reported since yesterday, police said.

The curfew was imposed in sensitive Dariapur after group clashes broke out between BJP and Sena activists over casting of `bogus’ votes at a booth on Jordan Road.

Meanwhile, two Shiv Sena Central ministers — Manohar Joshi and Suresh Prabhu — visited the trouble spot at the booth were the son of Sena candidate, Vinod Patel Hardik was hurt in police firing.

The ministers met with Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel and expressed concern over `inadequate’ police bandobast in Dariapur area during the elections.
