50 pouches of liquor seized
The police have arrested Sector 25 Janata colony resident Om Parkash and recovered 50 pouches of liquor from his possession. The police have registered a case under Excise Act.
Held for eve-teasing
Sector 45 resident Avtar Singh has been arrested on the charge of eve-teasing from Sector 23 Government Senior Secondary School.
Dowry harassment
A Sector 40 resident has alleged that her husband and in-laws harassed her and demanded dowry from her. The police have registered a case under Section 406 and 498 against her husband Ram Pal, father-in-law Som Nath, mother-in-law Krishna Devi and sister-in-law Anju, all of whom are residents of Kharar.
3 held for assault
The police have arrested three Ropar district residents Sukhdev, Darshan Singh and Paramjit Singh for allegedly assaulting Sector 27 resident Kamal Raju. Police sources said Kamal Raju complained that he was assaulted and threatened by the two accused at his Sector 17 courier shop.
Consumes acid
Sector 36 resident Manmohan Singh was admitted to the PGI after he reportedly consumed acid at his residence.
Hurt in mishap
In an accident between trolley and a truck in Phase VI in S.A.S. Nagar, truck driver Amarjit Singh was injured. He has been admitted to the hospital.
