The lower-level administration employees have failed to implement the orders of the Deputy Commissioner DC of prohibiting the sale of crackers in congested areas of the city. The DC had issued orders under Section 144 of the CrPC, which the shopkeepers are flouting right under the nose of the administration.
A visit to the congested markets of the city, including Imamnasar, Attari Bazaar, Shikhan Bazaar, Rainak Bazaar, revealed that the streets in these markets were so narrow that even a small fire tender could not enter.
