GANDHINAGAR, DECEMBER 15: A police sub-inspector and a State Reserve Police constable were suspended on Wednesday in connection with the police firing at Falla village in Jamnagar district of Gujarat on Tuesday in which three persons were killed.The situation in the area was tense but under control, police said adding that the last rites of those killed were performed in the morning. Minister of State for Home Haren Pandya told reporters here that the sub-inspector and the constable, who had been posted for security at the village during the agitation for drinking water, were suspended by the concerned range IGP after an on the spot investigation.The Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel had on Tuesday announced a magisterial inquiry into the police firing. A four-member committee, headed by additional DGP K R Kaushik, has been formed to look into the circumstances that led to the firing, Pandya said.
