Eternal Relevance of Gandhi
Delivering a lecture at Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad on the occasion of the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Chaitanya Bhatt — a Gandhian who runs an educational organisation in Dhedhuki village of Surendranagar district — highlighted the “eternal relevance of Gandhi for mankind”.
Bhatt said that many people would say that Gandhi has become old now, is not required and can be limited to one or the other issue. “But it is not like that…If we strive to live a sincere life, then Gandhi is relevant. Gandhi is alive even today. If we strive to lead a sincere life, then Gandhi is indeed alive.”
During his address, Bhatt said that “we are not like Gandhi, but still it is appropriate to conduct (ourselves on the basis of) how we discover him”. He said, “(Gandhi is) worth remembering, and to ponder over.”
Bhatt was the chief guest at the ashram on the birth anniversary of Gandhi.
