Moved by the plight of the Yadav siblings, Police Inspector Pradeep Sharma has decided to donate his award of Rs 31,000 to the Express My Mumbai Trust. Sharma announced this while speaking at an award ceremony in Bhayander on Monday.

The Shoor Veer awarded to Sharma for bravery by the Parihat Seva Sangh constituted a cash prize of Rs 31,000.

‘‘I was very moved by the photograph of the siblings,’’ Sharma said. The children’s parents sold flowers at Gateway of India. Sole breadwinners for their five children, aged between 15 and three, they were killed in the August 25 bomb blast. Sharma is himself a father of two daughters. ‘‘I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for children to lose their parents in unnatural deaths like this,’’ Sharma said.
