CHANDIGARH, SEPT 14: Issuing notice of motion for November 16 to UT Deputy Commissioner-cum-Registrar of Cooperative Societies M. Ramshekhar, the Punjab and Haryana High Court today also asked him to quot;show cause as to why proceedings for contempt be not drawn for the alleged violation of the directions of the courtquot; regarding the holding of elections to the management committee of a house building society.
Taking up the petition of Vinod Tandon of Dhanas village and another member of the Nirvana Cooperative House Building Society, Justice V.S. Aggarwal, however, granted the DC exemption from personal appearance quot;till further ordersquot;. In their petition, the two members had earlier contended that the High Court had issued directions to the Registrar to take steps for holding elections to the management committee within a month of deciding its tenure.
