NEW DELHI, JAN 18: The Congress today demanded an immediate withdrawal of the controversial Gujarat government circular asking the secondary and higher secondary schools in the state to subscribe to the RSS weekly Sadhana.

Calling the circular a blatant misuse of the official machinery, party spokesperson Anand Sharma today warned that if it was not withdrawn the Congress would forcefully raise this issue in the budget session of Parliament as well as in the Gujarat Assembly.

Strongly objecting to the reported circular, Sharma said its description of the fundamentalist magazine as containing great literary value was clearly an indication of the sinister campaign to mislead impressionable minds in furtherance of the RSS agenda to create communal hatred and division.
