Cong lost K8217;tka for not nominating CM: Advani

Buoyed by the victory in Karnataka, senior BJP leader L K Advani is confident of having 8220;more allies8221; before the next Lok Sabha elections.

The NDA8217;s Prime Ministerial candidate, however, remained evasive on queries about Jayalalithaa, Mayawati and Chandrababu Naidu as potential allies.

8220;I am not speaking in specific terms. But I am hopeful. I am certainly confident that we will have more allies by next elections,8221; he told a TV news channel.

On Karnataka poll outcome, the Leader of the Opposition said that the Congress 8220;bungled badly8221; by not projecting a Chief Ministerial candidate. 8220;The day S M Krishna was brought back from the Governor8217;s post, I had no doubt they would do it, but they bungled badly,8221; he said.

He wondered whether the Congress would make the same 8220;mistake8221; in the general election by not projecting any individual as Prime Ministerial candidate.

8220;I do not know if they are going to have the same approach in the coming Lok Sabha elections,8221; Advani was quoted as saying by a statement released by the channel.

With his party securing 110 seats, three short of the half-way mark, Advani said both the Congress and JDS were less than the BJP and there is 8220;no question of alliance with the JDS at the moment.8221;

On asked about his prospects of becoming the Prime Minister, he said, 8220;I do not see the issue in terms of a person, not even myself. I see it as an occasion or opportunity for NDA to return to power and repeat its good work8221;.
