HYDERABAD, NOV 5: BJP president Bangaru Laxman today said any move by Congress to tie-up with BJP-Trinamool combine to defeat Left Front in West Bengal would be welcomed.Asserting that BJP-Trinamool was a formidable force, Laxman said the Left would be routed in the ensuing elections and as Congress was also victimised in the state, "the three party tie-up could not be unholy"."We don't mind if Congress joins hands with us, with a common minimum programme in the fight to dislodge Left Front government in West Bengal," he said, adding that there was a heavy polarisation of cadre and leaders fron Congress to Trinamool in West Bengal.Affirming that Trinamool was the major NDA partner, Laxman said, "The exit of Jyoti Basu and the Left's lack of dynamic party programme to attract youth and its misrule over the years paves way for the Left's rout in the coming polls."Accusing the Left of losing relevance in present day politics, Laxman said, "The Left wing socialist dream merchants are exposed and lost credibility with the Indian public. The CPM had even lost its national party status."On Uttar Pradesh crisis, Laxman said there was no discontent among the cadre and the change of guard was not a political decision, but an administrative one. Denying that Dalits were sidelined, Laxman said the UP cabinet has more number of Dalits and OBCs in it.Laxman said the national executive of the party would be meeting tomorrow to adopt a strategy for the forthcoming polls and would fine tune the organisation in the states where elections are scheduled in the year 2001."Our main task is to consolidate the groundswell of goodwill that is palpable among many sections that were hitherto indifferent to the party appeals," he said in an obvious reference to rope in minorities into the BJP fold.Laxman said the Centre's policies were crafted to make the economy globally competitive while "subserving the objective of removing poverty and unemployment".Welcoming the national textile policy, Laxman said the policy was forward-looking and comprehensively addresses the needs of the mill, powerloom, handloom and other sectors of the textile industry.Advocating the quick implementation of the policy, he said, "We believe that the interests of the mill, powerloom and handloom sectors are complementary and not contradictory to each other and the representatives of these sectors should cooperate with Central and States governments for speedy implementation of the policy."
