NEW DELHI, November 19: Delhi require to beat Himachal outright to share the top spot with Punjab as they take on Himachal Pradesh in their North Zone Cooch Behar Trophy (Under-19) league encounter at the Kotla here from tomorrow.

After three games, Delhi have collected 16 points (5 from Haryana, 3 from Punjab and 8 from Jammu and Kashmir) while Punjab have finished their league engagements with 24 points. They got eight each from their games against Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal, five from Haryana and three from Delhi. Haryana are lying in third position with 14 points from three games.

Delhi had a successful outing against Jammu and Kashmir whom they beat by an innings at Jammu earlier this week. Medium pacer Amit Suman and Neeraj Chawla (off-spin) shattered the home team in the two innings, capturing seven and six wickets in the two innings, respectively.

Dellhi boast of a strong batting line-up that includes Dhruv Mohan, Varun Kumar, Gautam Gambhir, Rajan Gupta and skipper Bhupinder Singh. Gupta scored a century against J-K while Bhupinder and Gambhir narrowly missed the three-figure mark.

Himachal should be an easy prey for the home team, weather permitting. Himachal lost their last game outright against Haryana in Rohtak before reaching Delhi for their next encounter.
