PUNE, MAY 31: He is a computer whizkid. Archishmat Gore, who studies in Std X and is all of 15 years old, gifted his classmates with his first invention 8211; a computer software that provides key to solve their worst problems in life 8211; the quadratic equations!

An average student in school, Archishmat says, quot;It took me two weeks to develop this error-free computer programme which provides simplest clues to solve quadratic equations in the Class X algebra syllabus.quot;

This computer wizard has founded an ambitious enterprise called Institute of Educational Information Technology IEIT in the city. He, being the chief executive officer of IEIT, plans to transform it into a full-fledged incoporation which would revolutionise the conventional education in the country through use of computers.

quot;Computers are unnecessarily portrayed as the difficult machines. They are much easy to use,quot; he believes. And a determined Archishmat has the blue print ready for his ambitious plan. Young and fertile mind and willingnessto explore facts beyond the text books is the basic concept of his venture.

For the past few months, Archishmat has been inviting his classmates and friends to join him in his efforts. quot;So far I have met with little success as most of them prefer to either play games on computers or learn the available programmes rather than developing them on their own,quot; he said.

Acquaintance with the computers since childhood with mother being a computer professional herself, is not the reason why Archishmat was struck with the idea of exploring the cyberworld.

quot;Only one month ago I participated in a computer competition organised by Computer Society of India in which I stood sixth. Only then I realised my potential and thought of doing something interesting,quot; said Archishmat who has not only mastered the basic8217; language in computers but is also an expert in web design and hoisting web pages on the Net.

Interestingly, Archishmat never received any professional training in any of these skills. He explored it all inthe personal computer which his parents presented him last year.

quot;I would introduce an error in the data stored in the computer. All of it would crash. Then I would take it as a challenge, and salvage the same. This is how I began to unravel the computers,quot; he said.

Today, the Gores residence in the average middle-class locality of Sangvi has transformed into a mini research and development laboratory. The night lamp here burns all night quite often with the young CEO developing the content for his educational software programme.

quot;I am doing it all myself. Right from typing the text to developing programme for solving algebraic equations for class X,quot; he said. Starting with quadratic equations, Archishmat desires to continue further in bringing out easy solution programmes for all subjects of X and XII standards and later for other classes.

With a modest beginning Archishmat plans to make his venture commercial. quot;Making technology affordable to all classes is my aim in life,quot; he said. And this claimis substantiated by his moves.

Archishmat has hoisted his site ieit.freehosting.net on I-net in which he has put up his software programme on quadratic equations. The students can just download it from the Net absolutely free of cost. However, this young entrepreneur is facing resource crunch. Neither the financial support from the parents and nor his own pocket money is meeting the requirement of his expanding work. He is now looking for commercial openings.

quot;I am facing shortage of money. Nevertheless, I would be making the software available to the students at a nominal cost. For example at present the interactive CDs in subjects like algebra cost around Rs 3,000. I propose to make available qualitatively better version at one third of this cost,quot; he said.

Revealing his ambition in life, he said: quot;I want to pursue higher studies in neurology and develop a learning computer 8211; a better version of those with artificial intelligence. It will be something that does not repeat mistakes and reactsaccording to situations.quot;
