The Cellular Operators Association of India COAI on Tuesday formally filed an application to withdraw its challenge to WLLM limited mobility and unified access licensing that was pending before the Supreme Court. The withdrawal was unanimous as applications were filed to withdraw all three appeals pending before the apex court in this regard. COAI director general T.V. Ramachandran stated that the industry continues to remain committed towards the growth and development of a healthy and viable cellular mobile industry, which would enable all the cellular operators, irrespective of technology or size, to participate energetically in the growth programmes of the government for attaining the national tele-density objectives as envisaged under NTP-99. A SC bench also issued notices to the Centre on the interim prayer of the petitioners seeking stay of the service. ENS
