KHARAR, May 20: The Kharar Municipal Employees Union has served an ultimatum on the Kharar Municipal Council to start an indefinite strike followed by fast-unto-death from tomorrow, May 21, if their demands were not accepted by this evening.

In a letter addressed to the president and the executive officer of the Kharar MC, the union leaders — Jagtar Singh, Avtar Singh and Amar Nath — said the employees of the local MC will start an indefinite strike to protest against the indifferent attitude of the authorities towards their demands. If the matter would not be sorted out even after the strike, the employees will intensify stir.
