CHANDIGARH, May 13: The Chandigarh State junior basketball camp in both boys and girls section is in progress. The final 12-member team in both the groups will take part in the forthcoming 50th Junior National basketball championship to be held at Pondicherry.In the last Junior Nationals held at Patiala, the Chandigarh teams lost their pool matches and were out of reckoning. However, this time the officials of the Chandigarh Basketball Association (CBA) are confident that the players are good and both the teams will enter the last eight stage. ``We have good height. Three of our players are above six feet,'' disclosed Amarjeet Singh, in-charge of the boys team and the camp is being held at the DAV School in Sector 8.However, the girls team has average height. To get a place into the quarterfinals, the team will rely on outside shooting and ball handling.The girls team were winner of the title in the 1993, when the tournament was held in the city. They beat Punjab to win the trophy.
