PANCHKULA, Oct 14: The Haryana Chief Minister, Om Parkash Chautala, today said the Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine here would be developed on the pattern of other prominent religious places in the country. The Chief Minister, who is also the chairman of the Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board, was talking to mediapersons at the shrine, after paying obeisance at the temple, where he also performed a yajna at the recently constructed Yajna Sabha.

He appreciated the services being provided by the management of the shrine and hoped for communal amity and peace in the state. He added the shrine was emerging as an important place of tourist interest. Later, the Chief Minister had a look at a painting exhibition of prominent artists of Chandigarh and Panchkula. He also planted a sapling of Molseri near the Yajna Shala.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner S.K. Monga informed that the contributions made by devotees on the first three days of the Navratra Mela included Rs 5,16,893 in cash, nine gold jewellery items, 147 silver jewellery items, 58 kg desi ghee, nine wall clocks, 38 steel glasses, 47 steel thalis and six ceiling fans. Besides these, the devotees also donated flour, rice and clothes. Those who were present on the occasion included Local Bodies Minister Dhirpal, chairman of State Planning Board R.S. Chaudhary and INLD state general secretary Pardeep Chaudhary, besides other senior officials.
