PANCHKULA, June 7: Chandrachur Singh, Bollywood actor of "Maachis" fame, launched the first 4-stroke bike _ Kinetic K4-100 _ here today. The 4-stroke bike has been produced indigenously by Kinetic Engineering Limited (KEL).

Addressing a press conference at North Park Resorts, Joint Managing Director Sulajja Firodia Motwani said it was the most affordable bike at Rs 29,000 and 87 kmpl mileage as compared to others which cost nothing less than Rs 40,000.

The company is targeting customers who have been buying scooters and the buyers in the rural market. The bike has already been launched in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Orissa, Gujarat and West Bengal and will be launched in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu soon.

The company plan to sell 50,000 vehicles by the year end and have already sold 15,000 vehicles. The company also offers exchange and finance facilities.

Motwani revealed that rural K4-100, a bike specifically designed for the rural areas will be launched by December this year. The KEL will also be extending its range of products to include the 110 and 150 CC motorcycles in the next two years. A self starting 73 cc scooter will also be available in the next 4-5 months.

The group plans to launch its 500 cc Kinetic car shortly. With a carrying capacity of four persons and fuel consumption of 17-18 kmpl, it will be priced between Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh. The launch of two models of Luna _ 60 cc kick start and 50 cc single seater _ are also on the anvil.

Meanwhile, Narinder Singh of Chandigarh Mobiles Private Limited said that they have already sold 15 bikes and booked 12 more in the city during the last few days.
