Sharif govt dismissed
Pakistan television announced tonight that Nawaz Sharif government had been dismissed after the troops had held him under house arrest and took control of key installations and airports following the dismissal of Army Chief Gen Pervez Musharraf by the prime minister.

DMK to join NDA govt
The DMK today decided to join the Vajpayee-led National Democratic Alliance NDA government at the Centre making it clear that it had no demands on the number of ministers or any specific portfolios. The decision was taken at a meeting of DMK parliamentary party.
