I will not allow these lies: Bhagwat
Breaking his silence after being sacked on December 30, Admiral Vishnu Bhagwat today claimed that the Government8217;s allegations were a 8220;tissue of lies8221; and he wouldn8217;t allow the 8220;slander8221; to pass. Admiral Bhagwat and his wife left Navy House today for Mumbai where on arrival at the Santacruz airport, he read out from a statement to the crowd of reporters: 8220;I will not allow my honour to be besmirched in this manner. I have given my whole life to the Navy and the nation, and I am proud of the legacy I am leaving8221;.
Tohra boycotts conference
The division in the ruling Akali Dal is complete, though the split is yet to be formalised. This was evident at the political conference organised by the party here today, which was boycotted by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president Gurcharan Singh Tohra and his supporters.
