Asserting that the Centre was willing to talk to anyone in Kashmir, the Government’s interlocutor on Kashmir N.N. Vohra said today that there was a possibility of a meeting with the moderate Hurriyat Conference led by Maulana Mohammad Abbas Ansari, for the third round of talks in July.‘‘I am here as part of the India-European Union round-table, (but) there is a possibility of meeting the Hurriyat leaders,’’ he said upon his arrival here for a four-day conference.Vohra said the third round of talks was likely to be held in the first or the second week of July, and would be decided by mutual consent.Asked if he would meet the leader of the hardline faction of the Hurriyat, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, he said ‘‘We will see as it comes.’’‘‘Whosoever is willing to talk to the Government of India, the Government of India is willing to talk to them,’’ he added. The retired bureaucrat is here as part of the 35-member India-EU delegation that will deliberate on bilateral issues, including trade, commerce, tourism and strengthening of cultural ties between the two sides. Vohra also called on former Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq to condole the death of his uncle Moulvi Mushtaq Ahmad. Vohra met Mirwaiz at his uncle’s residence at Nishat on the outskirts of the city this afternoon, arriving in a private car to escape the media’s attention. Moulvi Mushtaq was shot at and seriously injured by militants last month and succumbed to injuries on June 7. After the meeting, Mirwaiz said that the Centre’s interlocutor had come to condole his uncle’s death and there was nothing political about it.The retired bureaucrat, who is co-chairman of the round-table, will also meet the Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt. Gen. (retd) S.K. Sinha and Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
