The Centre has alerted all states, including Tamil Nadu, on a possible strike in crowded areas of major cities, following the terrorist attacks at Hyderabad.
The Tamil Nadu DGP had also received such an alert and security was being beefed up in all major places in the city, Police Commissioner Nanjil Kumaran told reporters here.
He said the alert was not specific to Chennai. “However all lodges, market places and other crowded areas are being provided additional security,” he said.
