CBI questions unwed mother, senior officials

Speeding up the investigation process, officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation quizzed for five hours unwed mother, Zenie, who had alleged that former Uttaranchal revenue minister Harak Singh Rawat fathered her child.

The Central Government issued a notification under Section 6 of the Special Delhi Police Act authorising the CBI to probe the matter. The CBI team met many senior police and civil officials, along with officials of the state Social Welfare Department, which controls the Nari Niketan, where Zenie has been put up under security. A team of government doctors from Doon Hospital have been regularly visiting the Nari Niketan to take care of the mother and the child.
