CHANDIGARH, May 20: The case registered against former estate officer D.V. Bhatia and two other employees M.K. Vats and O.P. Gupta was closed by the CBI today. The findings of CBI were accepted by the court. Bhatia, working as the assistant estate officer in 1989, was booked by the CBI for allegedly showing favours to the allotees while charging the ground rent.

In its closure report, the CBI has stated that no undue favours had been shown to any of the allotees by D.V. Bhatia in the ground rent and interest.

Similar relief was granted by the estate officers succeeding Bhatia. Under the rules the ground rent and interest was payable after the actual and physical possession of plots was given.
