Former chief minister and chairman of the campaign committee of Punjab Pradesh Congress Amarinder Singh has ridiculed the campaign launched by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, saying that the Chief Minister, instead of feeling proud, should feel embarrassed for offering a paltry sum to the people for development.
In a statement issued here today, Amarinder said, 8220;Rs 555 crore for 12,329 villages is not even peanuts.8221; He added that a substantial portion of this amount must have already been shown to be spent on the publicity campaign.
The former chief minister said the amount does not work to even Rs 4. 5 lakh per village.
Capt Singh said the Badals can no longer take people of the state for a ride.
