Harare, September 20: New Zealand put an early stranglehold on the second cricket Test against Zimbabwe during the second day here on Wednesday with a first innings score of 465 all out.

In reply, Zimbabwe were 31-1, losing Gavin Rennie for four. Cairns’s 124 was two short of his best in Test cricket. He hit three sixes and 13 fours (172 balls) for his 4th century. When he reached 71 he achieved a personal Test career landmark of 2,500.
