NEW DELHI, AUG 27: With an aim of speedily reducing the number of HIV-infected people in the country, the Union Cabinet today approved the implementation of the Rs 1425 crore National Aids Control Programme II and continuation of the project into the first two years of the 10th plan period.
It also gave the nod for the transfer of funds directly from the National AIDS Control Organisation to the State AIDS Control Societies, Project Management Units of Department for International Development DFID and USAID.
Besides, it also approved the reconstitution of the National AIDS Control Board.
