NEW DELHI, June 26: Two murders were reported in the Capital yesterday. A man who was angry at a West Delhi gambler for luring his uncle to gamble every evening, shot at him from his licensed revolver in Moti Nagar police station area late last night. However, the bullet hit a bystander who died on the spot.
According to the police, Munna, a known bad character of Moti Nagar, every evening people would come to Munna’s den to gamble. Yesterday when the accused, Anil Kumar, came to know about Munna’s involvement, he reached his den and fired at him.
However, Munna escaped unhurt and the bullet hit 20- year-old Kuruswami who was passing by.
In a separate case, a man was bludgeoned to death in Jaffarpur Kalan in south-west Delhi by his neighbours Ravinder and Inder. Both the accused reportedly believed that Hemant Kumar had an affair with a girl in the locality which they resented.
According to the police, the deceased who works in a private firm in Gurgaon was returning home at the time of the incident when the accused attacked him. They allegedly beat up Hemant and when he was unconscious they dragged him and dumped him in front of his house.
The deceased was taken to a local hospital where he was declared dead. Jaffarpur police have registered a case. The accused are reportedly absconding.
