US President George W Bush will meet his Pakistani counterpart Pervez Musharraf here on December four during which the two leaders are expected to discuss the Indo-Pak peace process, the war against terror and other issues of mutual interest.
‘‘President (George) Bush is looking forward to welcoming President (Pervez) Musharraf of Pakistan to the White House on December four,’’ White House spokesman Scott McClellan told reporters on Monday. ‘‘This visit will be an opportunity for the two presidents to continue discussing the war on terrorism and their long-term vision for US-Pakistan relations,” he said
On the Indo-Pak relations, he said that there has been a lot of progress made to reduce tension in the region. ‘‘It is something the President (Bush) talks directly with the two leaders of those countries about on a fairly regular basis. These are issues that come up in their discussions and in their meetings. And the President will continue to talk with them about those issues,’’ he said. — PTI
