Aurangabad, Jan 6: The district administration and the police on Saturday threw a reluctant industrialist Piyush Bongirwar, son of state chief secretary Arun Bongirwar into full media glare, nay almost a red alert, to nab miscreants who broke into his house leaving him poorer by Rs 22,500.
Piyush, who runs a small-scale industry here and is reportedly into real estate business in a big way, was away in Mumbai along with his wife since December 29. The burglary is believed to have taken place on Thursday night.
But more than the amount and the equipment that the burglars took away from their bungalow situated in the plush Vedant Nagar, it was the hyper reaction of the local police and administration that drew everybody’s attention.
District Magistrate I S Chahal rushed to the spot to have first-hand information about the incident. By that time, police vans and the police top brass had already descended on the spot. Looking at the scenario, one got the impression that a major crime had taken place.
Curiously enough, the amount stolen was fixed even before Piyush arrived back. The figure was given to the police by one of Piyush’s friends. Piyush himself did not give any such information to the police.
