Calcutta, Nov 15: West Bengal Chief MinisterBuddhadev Bhattacharjee today charged the Trinamool Congress with playing the communal card by promising 50 per cent job reservation for religious minorities in the party-run Calcutta Municipal Corporation.

The Mayor’s promise was endorsed by Trinamool CongressChief Mamata Banerjee.

Stating that reservations on the basis of religion werenot possible under the provisions of the Constitution, the Chief Minister said, "let the Centre implement it first. That would settle all dispute."

On Banerjee’s demand that Urdu be made second language inareas where it is spoken by at least 10 per cent of the people Bhattacharjee said, "She is making such demands without understanding the implication."
