KHARAR, Nov 4: In order to protest against the decision pronounced by the Supreme Court on September 16, about the promotion policy for Dalit employees, the Punjab unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will observe November 9 as a `black day’ and massive protest dharnas and rallies would be organised at all the district headquarters in front of deputy commissioner offices in the state.

Disclosing this here, BSP state secretary Mann Singh Manhera said the government employees belonging to Dalit community will wear black badges as a mark of protest throughout the state on November 9. He appealed to the President to intervene in the matter by using his special powers for staying the implementation of this anti-Dalit decision.

The BSP leader urged the Central and Punjab governments to stop the direct appointments of additional district and session judges as well as judges of the high courts. He demanded appointments to such posts through proper examination and as per requisite qualifications so that the candidates belonging to Dalit community may also get a chance to serve on these posts.
