A six-member delegation from Brazil that met All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi at his Shastri Bahwan office in the Capital on Monday made a presentation on its plans to extending support to help in the development of Indian football.

The contingent, led by Dr Fabio André Koff, chairman of Clube dos 13, an umbrella organisation of the top 20 clubs in the Latin nation, is also likely to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for football co-operation later this week.

The MoU includes sending Indian football players to train at Brazilian professional football clubs. Indian coaches and assistant coaches will get an internship with Brazilian professional football teams to improve their coaching capabilities.

There are also talks of Brazilian clubs visiting India to participate in friendly tournaments. A team from Brazil might participate in the ONGC international tournament to be held in New Delhi in August. The modalities are being worked out.

The other member of the delegation accompanying president Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva are Victor Josebachvili, director, Clube dos 13, Joao Gilberto Vaz international representative, Flávio Machado Filho, executive-director of institutional relations, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, Giacomo Feres Staniscia, director, Futebologia, René Santana Silva, soccer coach.
