MUMBAI, June 28: Bombay Gymkhana defeated Bengal Tigers 10-0 in a thrilling encounter of the Famous Grouse Inter-City 10-a-side rugby tournament, today. In the fifth minute Chaitanya Singh scored after plotting a tricky maneouvre through three defenders.
The Bengal Tigers tried to claw their way back into the match, but good defensive work by Nasir Hussein and Samir Saraiya stymied their efforts.In the final of the Bowl event, Greater Bombay Police beat Bangalore 5-0. In the Plate event, Maharashtra State Police defeated Calcutta Wild Cats 20-0.
