With the arrest of three persons, the Batala police today claimed to have solved the blind murder case of Gurbhinder Singh, alias Bhinder, a 22-year-old resident of Mehta village whose body was recovered from near Bolewal village.

The accused have been identified as Tarjinder Singh, alias Mithu, his brother-in-law Kulbir Singh, alias Sonu, and Onkar Singh, alias Happy. Batala SSP Dr Naresh Kumar Arora said the accused had called the deceased for drinking with them. “Later, they strangulated him with a dupatta,”he said.

The SSP said the accused killed Gurbhinder, as he allegedly used to force the sister of Tarjinder Singh to have relations with him. He added that further investigations were on.
