BJP unhappy with Pak temple demolition

The demolition of a Krishna temple in Lahore has evoked a sharp response from the BJP on Wednesday. The temple, according to a report in the Pakistan daily Dawn, has been razed to make way for the construction of a commercial building by a jeweller. Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani condemned the demolition saying it had ”shocked millions in our country.”

The BJP leader recalled that a year ago, during his visit to Pakistan, he had been invited to inaugurate a project at Katasraj. His allusion hinted that the demolition of the Lahore temple was at variance with the impression, which the Katasraj project undertaken by the Pakistan Government had sought to convey. Moving beyond condemnation, BJP president Rajnath Singh demanded reconstruction of the temple at the same site.
