BJP to PM: Probe, clear Mitrokhin air

Setting the stage for a showdown with the Congress and Left, BJP president L K Advani and colleagues Atal Behari Vajpayee and Jaswant Singh today asked the Prime Minister to institute an inquiry by a Supreme Court judge into the Mitrokhin disclosures and issue a white paper on the flow of KGB, CIA and ISI funds into the country.

In a joint letter to Manmohan Singh, the BJP leaders ‘‘The issues raised by these disclosures go well beyond individuals, or even particular political parties only. The allegations are such that virtually all of India gets charged, the name of our country getting sullied in the process.’’
