Chennai Metro Diwali train timings: Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has announced revised train timings for the Diwali holidays on October 20 and 21.
Diwali 2025 travel advisory, Chennai Metro train timings revised: Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has announced revised train timings for the Diwali holidays on October 20 and 21. According to a statement by CMRL, a special timetable will be in effect on Monday, October 20 and Tuesday, October 21.
“Special (Holiday) timetable will be followed on 20.10.2025 (Monday) & Sunday (Holiday) timetable will be followed on 21.10.2025 (Tuesday) in the view of Deepavali Holidays,” it said.
On October 21, the Chennai Metro trains will operate as per Sunday (Holiday) timetable. The metro trains will run during its service hours from 05:00 hrs to 23:00 hrs in the following timings:
Peak Hours (12:00 Hrs – 20:00 Hrs) : Metro trains will be available every 7 mins.
Non-Peak Hours (05:00 Hrs – 12:00 Hrs & 20:00 Hrs – 22:00 Hrs) headway : Metro trains will be available every 10 mins.
Extended Non Peak Hours (22:00 Hrs – 23:00 Hrs) headway : Metro trains will be available every 15 mins.

A total of 1,01,46,769 passengers travelled on Chennai Metro trains between September 1 and September 30, 2025. September 4, 2025, recorded the highest daily ridership of the month, with 3,97,217 passengers.
