NEW DELHI, Aug 2: Controversial godman Chandraswami today accused BJP of using the Jain Commission report to settle scores with him but said he would extend “all co-operation” to the multi-disciplinary monitoring agency (MDMA) to be set up by the government to “bring the killers of Rajiv Gandhi to book.”

“Everyone knows the rivalry between me and them whether it be Vishwa Hindu Parishad or Ram Janmbhoomi movement. I have always fought against communal forces and will continue to do so. Now they have got an opportunity to settle scores with me and they are using it (report) as a weapon,” Chandraswami told a private television network. He, however, expressed the hope that “truth” will come out.

“Nothing has come out after six and a half years of the working of this commission. The situation remains the same. I welcome the setting up of MDMA and will extend all cooperation to it so that killers of a popular leader like Rajiv Gandhi are brought before the people at the earliest,” Chandraswamisaid.

The godman denied any links with Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Mossad, Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and the collapsed Pakistani bank BCCI.

“Is it a crime to have friendship with anyone in the world. This way I have relations with many heads of state and government. Does it mean anything,” he asked. On reports that LTTE operatives were provided shelter in his Delhi ashram, he said, “those who had seen them should have informed the police then and there.”

Describing Rajiv’s assassination as a great loss to the nation and a personal loss to him, he said “there could not be anything more painful in this life than that such a sensitive issue is being politicised.”
