JAGADHARI (HARYANA), FEB 19: Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday accused the BJP and its allies of following "the writ and law of a communal organisation".

"Jahan jahan bjp or iske sathion ki sarkaren hein wahan ek phirka parast sanghthan ka kanoon or hukm chalta ha

(The states, which have BJP’s and its allies’ government, are following the writ and law of a communal organisation)," Gandhi told a fairly attended election rally here in Yamunanagar district.

Gandhi said a sangh parivar outfit was responsible for the killing of Mahatma Gandhi and added that government servants should not be allowed to participate in RSS activities which would harm their "unbiased" credentials.

She also accused the BJP and its allies of tinkering with the Constitution and the principle of equality for which Mahatma Gandhi and Dr Ambedkar stood.

Warning people of the cascading effect of a possible diesel price hike, Gandhi said pre-budget indications were that poor and farmers would be hard hit by the coming budget.

She branded the non-Congress governments in the State as "opportunist" and said they were only interested in promoting their self interest without greesing the palm of government officials, Gandhi said, alleging corruption in the administration.

She said agriculture, industry and dairy development would be given top most priority, if the congress is voted to power.

The party would also come out with a programme for welfare of the youth, the Congress president said.
