CHENNAI, March 5: The Bharatiya Janata Party's Tamil Nadu unit will not demand the resignation or dismissal of the DMK government in Tamil Nadu following the landslide victory of the AIADMK-led front. ``We know the difference between Lok Sabha and Assembly elections'', Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) all-India vice-president and the unsuccessful Chennai South candidate Jana Krishnamurthy told The Indian Express on Wednesday.When pointed out that the other allies of the party had demanded the stepping down of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, he said ``we are not of that view'. However, he said that the party might raise the issues of Coimbatore serial blasts and the deteriorating law and order situation in the state in Parliament.Asked if the BJP would give in to the `pressures of the AIADMK' to dislodge the DMK government, he retorted, ``No. there is no pressure from the AIADMK on that count''. He refused to rule out the possibility of BJP seeking the DMK's support for the formation of government atthe Centre, saying, ``I don't know what is happening in Delhi. I am going there (Delhi) only tomorrow''.According to the BJP leader, one of the main contributing factors for the DMK-led front's defeat was that Karunanidhi tried to reduce the Lok Sabha election to an Assembly election. ``Not understanding the overwhelming public opinion in favour of the BJP, he poured venom against the party and its ally, the AIADMK''. The DMK chief's statement that the serial blasts were not aimed at BJP president L K Advani was `highly irresponsible' and this had cost the DMK-led front dearly, he added.As for his defeat in the Chennai South constituency by a narrow margin, he alleged that the ruling partymen had resorted to heavy rigging.
