Quality award for Grasim, HLL
MUMBAI: The National Quality Award trophy was bagged by Vikram Cements, a unit of Grasim Industries, becoming the first ever recipient since the trophy was instituted in 1997. Hindustan Lever8217;s Chhindwara unit was also honoured with a certificate of merit for 1998 in recognition of its excellent work and commitment to quality. Instituted by the Indian Merchants8217; Chamber IMC and the Ramakrishna Bajaj Trust, the National Quality Awards were presented by Maharashtra governor PC Alexander. IMC also recognised individual efforts of Suresh Krishna, chairman , Sundaram Fasteners, for sustained commitment and leadership in promoting quality in the industry over the years.
Insurance officers against LIC policy
MUMBAI: National Federation of Insurance Field Workers of India, a representative organisation of the development officers of LIC of India and a marketing force, has launched an agitation against the Life Insurance Corporation in protest against its anti-womanattitude in particular and other actuarial problems in general. The first phase of the agitation is to a hold massive demonstration in front of LIC8217;s central office in Nariman Point on March 15.
