The Birla camp claimed a major victory after today8217;s Supreme Court order. NG Khaitan of Khaitan 038; Co, solicitors for the Birlas, said they would press for a fast-track magistrate because the issue involves the 8216;8216;largest charitable trust ever in the history of India8217;8217;. 8216;8216;I demand that R.S. Lodha should quit forthwith, not only as an executor but also from all the MP Birla companies and from all the charitable trusts,8217;8217; he said. So should the others 8212; S.N. Prasad, V. Gauri Shankar and SK Daga8212; he added.

But the Lodha side was equally upbeat about the judgement, with their solicitor stating: 8220;It is not a setback for us or a win for the other party.8221; The resignation demand was 8220;preposterous,8221; said Debanjan Mandal of Fox 038; Mandal, solicitors for Lodha.
