Rail traffic was suspended on the Bhagalpur-Madndar Hill section as water inundated the railway line. Vehicular traffic came to a standstill on two highways—NH 77 and 104—in Sheohar and Sitamarhi districts as the swirling waters flowed over the road.

Meanwhile, at least seven persons, including four children, drowned in Khagaria district when an overcrowded country boat capsized in the overflowing Burhi Gandak river. The boat was carrying 30 flood-affected villagers looking for high ground.
