Indian football captain Bhaichung Bhutia has been invited by a TV channel to join its panel of experts to render analysis on matches played during the month-long World Cup in South Korea-Japan beginning on May 31.

‘‘Bhutia will be in the panel of experts on ‘Ten Sports’ channel for analysing World Cup matches. He is leaving for Dubai on May 28,’’ his coach and mentor Karma P Bhutia said here today.

After finishing his assignment, Bhutia will leave for England to join Bury FC. Bhutia, who has a contract till the first week of July, may not like to renew it, the coach said.

Bhutia, who left for Kolkata today will decide in mid-July which team to play for — East Bengal or Mohun Bagan. Both the glamour clubs of Kolkata have approached the nimble-footed striker.

‘‘I have told him to see the composition of a team before signing in, as one player cannot do all the things in a match,’’ said Karma Bhutia, a member of the Sikkim Football Association who first spotted Baichung in a remote corner of Sikkim.

The three-year stint of Bhutia in England has made him more mature and helped him gain experience which, in the long run, would also benefit Indian football, he said.
