Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (Bhel) will set up a small hydro electric project of 12 mega watt (MW), at a cost of Rs 100 crore, in Mizoram.Bhel bagged the order for setting up the project in consortium with Mecon, a company release stated here. Located near Aizwal, the Serlui-B power house will utilise the waters of Serlui river for generating power. The project would be commissioned by the consortium partners within a schedule of 48 months. The main equipment for the project would be manufactured at Bhel’s Bhopal plant while the civil and hydro mechanical work will be carried out by Mecon. Bhel is also executing a contract for setting up a 22.9 MW DG power plant at Bairabi, which is in an advanced stage of commissioning.
