VADODARA, Aug 17: The Bharuch police on Monday busted an inter-district gang of thieves by arresting three of its members and seized goods worth Rs 1.53 lakh from their possession.

District Superintendent of Police Ashish Bhatia told Express Newsline that a police party headed by PI K S Jhala had laid a trap in Nabipur village on the basis of a tip off which resulted in the arrest of three culprits.

The arrested were Maqsood Hamidbhai Shaikh, a resident of Valsad, Jignesh Ramanlal Soni, a resident of Narmayan Nagar society No. 2, Bharuch and Babubhai alais Ghulam Mahmud Dawood Musa Vora Patel, a resident of Nabipur village of Bharuch.

During interrogation, Maqsood admitted to have committed three house-breakings at Valsad, Dharampur, Vapi and Chikhli areas. Bhatia said with the arrest of this trio all 15 house-break cases registered by Valsad police were likely to be solved.
